The production process for aluminium-zinc plated steel sheets is similar to that for galvanized and aluminium-plated steel sheets in that it is a continuous melt plating process. The coating composition consists of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon by weight. 55% Al-Zn alloy coated Al-Zn steel sheets have superior corrosion resistance compared to galvanized steel sheets of the same thickness when exposed to the same environment on both sides. 55% Al-Zn alloy coated Al-Zn steel sheets not only have good corrosion resistance, but also excellent adhesion and flexibility of the color coated products.
